we then decided on doing more detailed research about punk rock videos and what they include. I felt that it would be best to use seardch engines to find the research that we needed, the main ones that i used was google and wikepedia, i used theese ones because i was familiar on how to use them and i no they are reliable. The first thing i researched was what is included in a punk rock music video. I discovered that rock normally involves many diffrent genres but it mostly comes down to it being focused around the band or a singel person mainly the lead singer.

goldfinger

Goldfinger was formed by John Feldmann on vocals and guitar, Simon Williams on bass, Darrin Pfeiffer on drums, and Charlie Paulson on guitar. Before they were signed to a major label, they released an EP titled Richter. Many of the songs on Richter are demo versions of songs on their full length debut, Gold finger, which was released in 1996. Though their second album, Hang-Ups, was less successful, the band still maintained a devoted fan base in the hardcore community. Their third studio LP was Stomping Ground, which sold poorly in the US but was a modest hit in some European countries, thanks to their cover of Nena's "99 Luftballons" sung partly in German. Their next album, Open Your Eyes (2002), was the first for their new record label, Jive/Zomba

blink182

Blink-182 is an American pop punk band from Poway, California that predominantly plays pop punk music. The band was formed in 1992 as "Blink" with members Tom DeLonge (vocals, guitar), Mark Hoppus (vocals, bass) and Scott Raynor (drums). DeLonge cites punk rock bands Descendents and Screeching Weasel as influences, although the band's songwriting and production are driven by a pop sensibility. They typically combine elements of punk rock with pop music, to varying degrees, as is most pop punk. Blink-182 is known for their simple melodies, teen angst and lyrical toilet humor. They often targeting subjects such as love and growing up. These being fused into multiple hit singles such as "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things", "Adam's Song", "The Rock Show", "First Date", "Stay Together for the Kids", "Feeling This", and "I Miss You". When playing live, the band typically plays their songs at a faster tempo and often replaces certain lyrics with toilet humor and various gags.

Sum 41 is a rock band from Ajax, Ontario, active since 1996. The current members are Deryck Whibley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jason McCaslin (bass guitar, backing vocals), Steve Jocz (drums, backing vocals), and Tom Thacker (lead guitar, backing vocals, keyboard). Sum 41 has sold over 4 million albums worldwide The range of Sum 41's musical influences varies through many different styles. They have obvious roots in punk rock, with bands like The Dead Boys and NOFX. In addition, a firm root in hip hop acts like the Beastie Boys is apparently present. The latter is most effectively observed in the rap rock style of singles like "Fat Lip" and "It's what We're All About". Their studio album, Does This Look Infected?, was heavily influenced by The Offspring. The band also cites The Beatles, Oasis, Iron Maiden, and Metallica as influences; the latter two influenced Sum 41's use of metal.

The Exies

The Exies are an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1997. Their name, "The Exies", is short for "The Existentialists". Their two Virgin Records releases, Inertia (2003) and Head for the Door (2004), have sold over 400,000 copies combined. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2000 on Ultimatum Records, and toured extensively. While touring, they caught the attention of Grammy-winning producer Matt Serletic, who bought their contract from the indie label they were on.Thom Sullivan and The Exies parted ways in September 2000, and Dennis Wolfe joined the band. The majority of 2001 and early 2002 was spent writing and recording. The band began touring in August 2002.

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. Formed by Billy Corgan and James Iha. Disavowing the punk rock roots shared by many of their alt-rock contemporaries, the Pumpkins have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound. The Smashing Pumpkins broke into the musical mainstream with their second album, Siamese Dream (1993). The group built its audience with extensive touring and their follow-up, the double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. With approximately 18.25 million albums sold in the United States alone, The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s.

The next key thing that we decided on doing was discussing about what kind of music video we wanted to do, we decided that the best way to this was a spider diagram and narrow them down.



we decided on doing a song in the style of punk rock because we all enjoy it and are familiar with the conventions and genres of a punk rock music video, they are normaly very powerful, and normally feature the band and images or scenes which represent the music or lyrics which are being sung.
